An execution plan is created individually and divided into multiple “execution blocks.” Each block provides flexible configuration options for the execution mode (serial or parallel) as well as for error handling.
Within a block, one or more “tasks” or additional blocks can be included. With these tasks, a wide variety of commands can be sent to the shutdown hosts. Thanks to this modular structure, even complex IT environments can be represented in a clear and organized way.
In the event of a power outage, the execution plan enables an automated, orderly shutdown of the entire IT infrastructure in the required sequence.
After power is restored, specially created restart plans can be used for a controlled reboot. These plans are initiated manually by the administrator and ensure that systems are brought back online in a controlled manner.
Below you will find sample execution plans for the shutdown and restart of various IT environments. They serve as practical examples and copy templates to help you create your own execution plans easily and efficiently.
Feel free to send us an export from the “Documentation” view of your configured execution plans by email at support@vmshutdown.com! We would be happy to publish your implementations here, in anonymized form, for the VMShutdownManager community. In this way, you can help expand the variety and usefulness of our sample execution plans and provide valuable inspiration to other users.
